Summoning the Zeitgeist
A one day music/art project inspired by Cornelius Cardew’s
‘Treatise’
and Frank Zappa’s bicycle….

This was the simplified version of the Brief:
Sit in a quiet place and listen.
Draw what you hear
Organise what you have heard into a graphic score
Send this to someone else to interpret as music,
however they wish.
Make a handmade instrument or gather together
objects and sound generators (squeaky toys, drills, cheese graters
crumply paper, mice )
Interpret the scores you have been sent with sound
generated by your hand made instruments,
Record the sound on your phone
and send back to original Artist.
